Puligundu Twin Rocks

Best time to visit
October to February. Avoid summer afternoons on the bare rock.
Location
About 18 km from Chittoor, on the Chittoor/Pakala–Penumuru road.
What to do
A twin-peaked rock hill about 1,000 ft high, with a narrow summit said to resemble a Shiva lingam. Trek the steep track for sunrise views, and visit the Sri Puligundeswara Swamy (Shiva) temple at the base.
Villagers hold special pujas there on Makara Sankranti. An APTDC Haritha hotel is on site, and the district plans trails, rock climbing and camping.

By cab or bike via Pakala. Buses also run from Chittoor.
