On an announced launch date. Register as soon as booking opens, because seats fill fast.

A barrier island between Pulicat Lake and the Bay of Bengal, reached by a road across the lake from Sullurpeta.
What to do
India's main rocket launch base (ISRO). The public can watch launches from the stadium-style Launch View Gallery, which holds 5,000 people and faces both launch pads.

How to reach
By cab via Sullurpeta, across the road over Pulicat Lake.
Tip: Pulicat Lake, BV Palem, Nelapattu, Sriharikota and Tupilipalem sit close together near Sullurpeta. Plan them as one full-day trip, ideally during the Flamingo Festival in January.
